  • 9 OF THE HARDEST VERSES OF 09′

There’s been a lot of hot albums, mixtapes , joints in 2009.
Whether they’re 16′s or 32′s, these are some of the hardest verses in 09 that made us press RWD.

    1. Mos Def (Feat Slick Rick) – Auditorium
From one of the best albums of the year. This is one of those verses that defines a track.
Classic story telling from the Ruler!

    2. Clipse (feat Kanye West) – Kinda Like A Big Deal
Love him, Hate him, Love him, Hate him, Love him.
You cannot deny Ye’s talent, he is the shit, and the urine. and he went in on this joint.
For all those 808 haters, Ye’ reminded you as to why he’s one of the hottest MC’s in the game.

    3.Jay Electronica – Exhibit C

A lot of labels have been trying to lock down this guy for a while, and this is why. Str8 food for the brain.

    4. Dizzee Rascal – Freaky Freaky
Another incredible year for Dizzee. For me, this is one of the hottest joints of Dizzee’s 4th album. Can’t decide which verse is more brutal, the first or the second.
Hands up if your guilty of giving that ‘P*ssy*le a pounding’.

    5. Drake (feat Lil Wayne, Kanye West, & Eminem) – Forever
Em’ came back hard on Relapse, but he really came back hard on this. Even though Drake did his thing, Em killed him on his own record, but that’s what Em does right? Ask Wayne!

    6. Jay-z (feat J Cole) A Star is Born
This is what’s known as a self fulfilling prophecy. J Cole murdered this track, that’s all i’m saying.

    7. Drake (feat Lil Wayne & Bun B) – Uptown
Everyone went in on this joint. One of the best cuts of the ‘So Far Gone’ mixtape, which is easily the best mixtape of 2009.

    8. Faboulous (Feat Drake) – Throw it in the Bag (Remix)
Yes, Drizzy was the go to guy in 09, and will be in 2010.
He outshined Losso on this one.

    9. Wale (feat J Cole) – Beautiful Bliss)

As you can see, there’s a bit of a pattern here.
It looks like J Cole and Drake are set to dominate in 2010.
Wale was nice on this joint, but J Cole killed it!

No doubt the Stans will have a field day with this post, and yeah there were a lot more hot verses that we could have added…….but we didn’t.

Who did it for you in 09′?

      J. Cole breached the ‘Ether of a Superior’ clause in his contract on A Star Is Born.

Auditorium is on The Ecstatic so nuff said!

    2. Old Bowse, December 22, 2009:

Ye’s verses on run this town had to be in the hottest 9 of 09, even more so because of its commercial success.

    3. blikrophiliac, December 22, 2009:

Some top choices here, but I can’t help but feel Drake going in on the ‘Digital Girl’ remix deserves a spot. That’s easily one of the top five 16s of the year.

    4. Jason Haslam, December 22, 2009:

Jigga’s last verse on ‘Thank You’ from BP3 was vintage…

Matter fact, every verse on ‘What We Talkin Bout’ off that same album was fire…

Raekwon would also get a mention for me…

    5. Laidback, December 22, 2009:

Slautherhouse – Microphone – Everybody went in on that first time i heard the track, i had to pull it back 3 times before it reached Joey’s verse!

“I got a barrel that’ll spot wussies If you are what you eat, how come I’m not pussy?”

      Black Mozart is banging!

      Also, House of flying daggers

“Split your melon like I split the Dutch”

    6. t i m, December 23, 2009:

No verses from album of the year – OB4CLII?

    7. Silent, December 23, 2009:

If i ruled the world 09 (smirnoff signature mix) – Nas & Marsha murdered it
