HOME GROWN EXHIBITION @ URBIS, MANCHESTER

This is a must for anyone who claims to be a Hip-Hop fan. This is the first Hip-Hop exhibition that documents the rise and impact of Hip-Hop in the UK.

Some of the exhibits are actually jaw dropping if you witnessed some of the events, or moments within the Hip-Hop timeline.

How long is it on for?

It was a fantastic journey exhibition, I went back 4 times to take it in. It’s a crying shame this couldn’t have
been turned into a museum of urban culture, Preston needs a football museum far more than Manchester,
Manchester is choc full of football feeling as it is.
Anyway, it was a briliant exhibition and a hard one to stage as the music was the issue and head phones
had to be the way in such a small space, but it worked. The posters and ephemera that was amassed for it
were spot on and gave anyone viewing a slice of a milestone in British music. I don’t know if it was a
copyright or finance issue that no posters were for sale of the original artwork I think you would have shifted
100’s of them, many people Iknow have asked, and I would have loved some of them .
It was great , thank you x
