He really hit the nail on the head with his comment about Drake going down the ladies man route. I’ve been saying this myself for a while, rappers right now seem to just be soley targeting the ladies. As a woman myself, I find it annoying beause as much as I like some of it, I do miss lyrics and rappers who are able to touch on a range of subjects. Also as a person that loves hard beats, I’m suffering because with all this ladies man music out there, the beats are just plain weak. We just need balance in hip hop and we need well rounded rappers, rappers that can cater to women but also rap about other life topics. I miss rappers being completely individual, like back in the day rappers could be completely different (no banwagon jumping) but be equally respected simply for being so dope and by dope I mean well rounded. We only have a few of those rappers left (i.e Common, Busta Ryhmes, Jay Z, Snoop Dogg ). I hope that the new generation can just take note of the successful rappers in the game (as No I.D. rightfully said) and keep hip hop alive with some really powerful music that I know they’re capable of.

Think you put across a great argument and I agree with a lot of what you have said.

Have you checked J.Cole – The warm up mixtape that we have posted up a little while back?

If you haven’t I suggest you check it, could be more of what your looking for..

I’ve actually known about J.Cole for a while now and so far his stuff is on point. I’m hopeful that there will be a new breed of fresh rappers. As well as J.Cole there are a few others brewing under the surface like Wale and B.O.B, so hip hop should get exciting again!!!

I agree with many of the points and of course have respect for NO ID, but is Drake hard? Can he come hard and if he does will he be called a perpetrator- He was an actor on Degrassi High. Maybe he is rapping what he knows, how he grew up and about getting girls. Sure we want more depth, maybe that will come as he grows.
