So, I dont wanna dissapoint too much but this isnt the post you been waiting for with the Jay interview, you can catch that on Sem’s show which airs on friday night 10pm. I just wanted to give you a bit of an insight into Semtex’s meeting with Jay and the fact that I was lucky enough to actually be present through out.

There are not many people in the music industry today that have so much influence on people, culture and even the industry itself than Jay-Z. It was evident to me upon hooking up with Sem before hand that there was a lot of anticipation in the studio and the building of Jay being in town, the type of anticipation few artist can generate.

Jay walked into the studio and came round to each of us shook our hands and said hi/whats up before sitting down and getting into it with Sem. To me that was kinda crazy that he took the time to even do that before sitting down to get into the interview (forgive me if im coming across like a bit of a Stan right now) .

Being in Jay’s presence for the short time I was it was clear why he has seen so much success , his whole attitude and demeanor of a top selling Hip Hop emcee and very focussed business man is something that no one else has been able to combine so well. I wasnt expecting it but I dont think I would have been surprised he had been a bit arrogant and withdrawn (who could blame him if he was) but he couldnt of been further from that at all.

Through out the interview Jay was very open, engaged and thorough on the subjects that were touched on. It felt like he was as excited to put out Blueprint 3 as we are to recieve it. All thats left to say from me is roll on September and make sure you lock in to 1xtra on Friday at 10pm GMT to catch a great interview.

    Nice insight and a neat little interview, to be that close to such an icon of our time must have been amazing.
    And to know that someone of such stature could be so chill, is a great reminder to stay grounded.
